Did you know? A single plant-based meal can save approximately 1,000 gallons of water. That’s the kind of ripple effect Paige Parsons Roache champions every day.
In this episode of Better Life for Animals, host Cheryl Moss welcomes Paige Parsons Roache, a dynamic full-time activist, media professional, and ethical vegan who has spent the last eight years amplifying plant-based and compassionate living through storytelling, grassroots action, and policy campaigns.
A Journey Sparked by a Daughter’s Choice
Paige’s path to veganism began with a simple yet profound moment: her teenage daughter announcing she wanted to go vegan. As a mother, Paige committed to learning how to nourish her family through plant-based foods, and soon uncovered deeper truths about the environmental and ethical impacts of animal agriculture. A pivotal vigil with LA Animal Save awakened her moral clarity, leading to a personal transformation and lifelong commitment to advocacy.
From Vigils to the Vegan Airwaves
Today, Paige serves as Director of Communications at Unchained TV, where she shares powerful stories about climate solutions, animal welfare, and ethical living. She co-hosts Plant Based in the Burbs, appears regularly on vegan panels, and leads campaigns with Plant Based Treaty and Vegans of LA. Her work spans from feeding underserved communities to helping cities adopt plant-forward policies.
Sanctuaries: Where Healing Begins
In a heartwarming discussion about animal sanctuaries, Paige shares how bringing people face-to-face with rescued animals can foster life-changing empathy. She speaks to the sanctuary as a place where animals finally receive the care, respect, and safety they’ve always deserved, and emphasizes the urgent need for public support to sustain these havens of compassion.
A Model of Accessible Activism
Paige’s advocacy is rooted in inclusion and accessibility. Whether it’s delivering plant-based meals to food deserts, supporting policies that make oat milk the default, or volunteering with Support + Feed, Paige believes lasting change comes through joyful, respectful engagement. Her message is clear: we don’t need to do everything, but we can all do something.
Take Action
Support a local sanctuary. Share plant-based meals with your community. Or simply be willing to learn, because, as Paige reminds us, once we see the truth, we can’t unsee it.
